Bruce Springsteen Played the Halftime Show for Free

Sunday's Super Bowl had it all. Incredible performances by both the Cardinals and Steelers, two late-game drives that made you realize why football is so great and even a little crotch bump by Bruce Springsteen.

How much did NBC and the NFL pay The Boss for his singing and camera tap? The exact same amount as you and I made for our vocals. Zilch.

"Now I've learned that the stunning performance by Springsteen at the Big Bowl came on the cheap. Make that very cheap," Brooks at Sports By Brooks reported.

It turns out Springsteen didn't charge the NFL one dime for his performance, though the NFL did cover his expenses. How charitable of them!

I think you could call this a win-win for both parties. The NFL got a great performer at halftime for the biggest sporting event in the world while Springsteen got to promote some music from his new CD, "Working on a Dream."
