NBC's Andrea Kremer Learns Lesson From FOX's Joe Buck (Maybe)

A few weeks ago, MDS pointed out that during last year's Super Bowl, FOX tag-team duo Joe Buck and Troy Aikman enjoyed a free ride to University of Phoenix Stadium as they prepared to call the Giants-Patriots game. According to the Inspector General (via the Smoking Gun), it was "inappropriate" for the United States Marshals Service to use federal vehicles to transport Buck and Aikman to the game. You think?

Seems like common sense, really, but clearly it's not. At least that was the story a FOX spokesman was pushing after the fact. "We were unaware, however, that those arrangements were in any way inappropriate, and regret to learn now that they apparently were."

Well, lesson learned. NBC's Andrea Kremer is currently at the Steelers' hotel and reports that the first team bus is "getting ready to depart" for the stadium. "Mike Tomlin, wanting to keep things as normal as possible, will be on the last bus. It's 14 miles to the stadium, thanks to the great police escort ... Alex [Flanagan] and I are heading their ourselves so we'll see you guys at the stadium, Bob."

That would be Bob Costas, already on set at Raymond James stadium, and he promptly asks Kremer: "Andrea, do you merit a police escort yourself ... You going to hop on board the police motorcycle and scoot on over here?"

Which led Kremer to respond: "I do not know if I'm allowed to admit that or not, Bob. But I will see you soon."

So there you go: Kremer and Flanagan, unlike Buck and Aikman, aren't under the impression that the rules don't apply to them. Unless, of course, they end up catching a ride on the taxpayers' dime.
