There's more advance hype about this year's halftime show, featuring Bruce Springsteen, than I can remember in recent Super Bowls, even as the spectacle around the game/event itself has taken a hit. Part of this is due to the Springsteen marketing machine going all-out in an effort to promote his new album, but as a Jersey boy I can attest from great experience that The Boss just inspires passion in people.
People are talking about the show so much, in fact, that early word on Springsteen's setlist has been a hot commodity. And now it has apparently leaked.
According to SportsbyBrooks, we can look forward to "Tenth Avenue Freeze Out," "Born to Run," "Working on a Dream," and "Glory Days." The last three tracks are obvious choices -- two of his most motivational and biggest hits and his current single. But about that first song, where do you stand? What's your ideal setlist? Does it need more depressing Nebraska tracks? Commence the debate, Springsteen fans.

I've heard people talk about Bruce performing as well ... talking about how it will be a great time to refill snacks and take a bathroom break.

Couldn't the Super Bowl committee find anyone but this OLDTIMER? I guess I will get up and walk around the block, until he is Done.

Bruce Springsteen is an excellent choice for the Super Bowl. He is a legendary musician with a beloved catalogue of great songs and the reputation for being an unbelievable live act (which I can most definitely say is well deserved). He will put on an excellent show, I'm sure.
As far as the setlist, I wish he weren't performing Working on a Dream, but instead My Lucky Day if he must play a new song from the new album. Also, I would have rather heard other songs besides Glory Days, perhaps Radio Nowhere or the Rising or Adam Raised A Cain. But either way, I'm excited.

To those knocking Bruce - you had Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake. Now let those of us with ears actually enjoy a halftime show for once with some real music and entertainment. Mkay?
