It's Super Bowl week, which means we get lots of stories about Kurt Warner's days as a grocery bagger and Santonio Holmes' days as a drug dealer. There's a lot of reasons for those stories. It gives a human face to the game's stars, and it helps build interest in a game that will be watched by many people who watch only one football game a year.
But if you're a fan who has Football Outsiders bookmarked and see zone blitzes in your sleep, I'm right there with you. Here's your primer to FanHouse's analysis of Sunday's Super Bowl XLIII.
ARIZONA CARDINALS
• This week we analyzed the Cardinals' defense and their offensive line. The short synopsis on the Cardinals D is that they like to bring a lot of pressure and they use a lot of different looks, switching back from 3-4 to 4-3 from play to play. As far as the Cardinals offensive line, Levi Brown and Mike Gandy have played much better in the playoffs, and we try to explain why.
• It was a little surprising that the Cardinals shut down John Abraham in the first-round win over the Falcons, but this post tried to explain why.
• If the Cardinals are going to get pressure on the Steelers, they will use a lot of line stunts, twists and loops. We posted a breakdown of one of the loops that might succeed against Pittsburgh.
PITTSBURGH STEELERS
We didn't neglect the Steelers when going back and rewatching film. Here's analysis of how the Steelers' defense has gotten to this point--it's not all about blitzing. And here's a look at why the Steelers offensive line is the team's weak link, with a breakdown of who has been responsible for the Steelers sacks.
• If you're looking for one of the Steelers' best blitzes, check out their overload OLB blitz.
• Willie Parker may or may not get a ton of carries on Sunday, but if he does, the G-Power will be one of the plays called over and over. Speaking of the G-Power, early in the season we broke down how they used it against the Browns.
• During the season, the Steelers' run defense was stuffing teams left and right, here was a look at how they did it.
• The Steelers' offensive line has been a focus at the FanHouse for years. Here's an offseason look at what went wrong in 2007 as well as a look at whether Ben Roethlisberger was the problem. Hopefully this helps explain how impressive it is that the Steelers are here now.

I am not a real sports fan and pretty ignorant about facts regarding one team vs. the other. I've just noticed certain teams that stand out in my not so sports-regimented brain. The Steelers are one of those teams, plus I really have always liked their "logo"" if that's what it's called, the three diamond pattern. I've never really noticed much about the Cardinals. We've been invited to watch the game with my step-daughter and her boy-friend. They are real "sports fans and want the Cardinals to win. I will be silently supporting the Steelers. This is probably not a very exciting comment. I didn't even know this site existed. It's 4:30 a.m. here in California and I just couldn't sleep so I was checking the computer to check to see if an e-mail I sent yesterday went through. In any event, I'm having fun sending this comment.
