Report: Steelers' Ben Roethlisberger Had X-Ray on Ribs

ProFootballTalk's Mike Florio is reporting that Ben Roethlisberger had X-rays on his ribs on Wednesday, possibly as a precautionary measure/follow-up for the back injury he suffered against the Ravens.

When asked about it, Roethlisberger gave a "no comment," then made it clear he wasn't talking about it when asked a follow-up question.

Roethlisberger is not listed on the Steelers' injury report, but, as we all know, that doesn't really mean a whole lot considering the NFL's lack of teeth in cracking down on the accuracy of injury reports.

PFT is the only source for the X-rays report right now, so it's worth noting that PFT's last scoop was a report that Dick LeBeau was likely to retire after the Super Bowl, something that has now been shot down by LeBeau himself.

But then, Florio's hit percentage on scoops is still likely higher than ESPN's Chris Mortensen, so this is one where we'll have to wait and see. But he's willing to point out the source of his scoop, saying that someone close to Roethlisberger explained about the X-rays. With Roethlisberger's known tendency to make sure that every injury he suffers is publicized, this does seem to pass the smell test.
